Held in May, this two day event allows Northern Alabamians to taste some of the best barbecue in the country. Sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society, the main competition puts award-winning cooking teams against one another. The Shade Tree Cookers Competition lets amateurs find out who is the best backyard cook. This festival features a kid's fun zone, in addition to great country and oldies music. 



Southern charm and antique furniture, along with the town’s historic and natural beauty, turns this house into a museum for the public to learn about its history. Many people from around the world come to see the weekend event of the Eufaula Pilgrimage, so check it out!

Though few realize it, the roots of Mardi Gras actually took hold in Mobile in 1703, long before ever being adopted by the city of New Orleans. Mardi Gras in Mobile include colorful parades as well as elegant balls and pageants, along with elaborate street fairs featuring dazzling performers wearing intricate, vivid costumes. Known as America's family-friendly Mardi Gras, the celebration lasts nearly two weeks and culminates on Fat Tuesday, the last day before the Catholic Lent.

Cotton Pickin' Fair is a semi-annual fair located in Gay, Georgia and held on the first full weekend of May and October. Opened in August of 1996, the Columbus Civic Center features seating for up to 10,000 people.
